Residents of Northeastern Washington stay or move here, due in part to the region's beauty and abundant natural resources. Now, its communities no longer take pristine water and abundant land for granted. This category examines the size and status of some of these resources. It is the most difficult category of community life to capture statistically because of the costs of measuring complex phenomena over time.
